N’Clusive Disability Consulting develops initiatives and frameworks that address gaps affecting people with disabilities, families, caregivers, and the systems that support them. Rooted in lived experience and disability-informed advocacy, this work focuses on identifying systemic barriers, creating practical solutions, strengthening support systems, and advancing greater equity, accessibility, independence, and dignity across healthcare, caregiving, community living, and everyday life.
Kyshawn’s Legacy Initiative
Kyshawn’s Legacy Initiative honors a life by turning experience into change. The initiative promotes self-advocacy, communication access, healthcare equity, inclusion and accessibility, caregiver empowerment, and dignity, rights, and respect.

Kyshawn’s Legacy Initiative honors the life and legacy of Kyshawn by turning his story into action. The initiative addresses inequities experienced by people with significant disabilities and their families, with a focus on dignity, equitable treatment, meaningful inclusion, caregiver and family advocacy, and ensuring that disability does not diminish a person’s right to appropriate care, opportunity, or quality of life. Through education, advocacy, and systems-focused work, Kyshawn’s legacy serves as a foundation for creating change for others.
Kyshawn Cancer & Disability Equity Initiative
The Kyshawn Cancer & Disability Equity Initiative focuses on inequities that people with disabilities may experience when navigating cancer diagnosis, treatment, communication, and care decisions. The initiative promotes disability-informed cancer care, equitable consideration of treatment options, accessible communication, respect for supported decision-making, and recognition that a person’s disability or communication method should not diminish the value of their life or the quality of care they receive.
Through education, advocacy, awareness, and systems-focused work, the initiative seeks to amplify the experiences of disabled patients and families while encouraging healthcare systems to examine and address barriers that can contribute to unequal cancer care.
Motherhood Without Barriers
Motherhood Without Barriers centers the experiences of mothers with disabilities and works to challenge the barriers that can affect pregnancy, parenting, healthcare, accessibility, independence, and family life. The initiative promotes disability-informed support, accessible environments and services, self-determination, and the recognition that disability does not determine a person’s capacity to parent.
Through education, advocacy, resources, storytelling, and community visibility, Motherhood Without Barriers creates space for disabled mothers to be seen, supported, and represented while helping organizations and communities better understand the accessibility and inclusion needs of disabled parents.
The Caregiver Burnout Framework
The Caregiver Burnout Recognition & Assessment Framework (CBRAF) is a structured approach developed by N’Clusive Disability Consulting to help organizations recognize, assess, and respond to caregiver and direct-care workforce burnout before it reaches a crisis point. The framework is designed for settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, residential programs, home care, and other environments where professionals provide ongoing support to others.
Rather than treating burnout as an individual failure, CBRAF examines changes over time and encourages organizations to identify warning signs, reassess when concerns emerge, and connect caregivers and staff with appropriate supports. The goal is to promote healthier caregiving environments while protecting both the people providing care and the people who depend on that care.
Why It Matters
Caregiver and direct-care workforce burnout can affect more than the person experiencing it. When exhaustion, stress, emotional strain, or disengagement go unrecognized, the effects can extend to communication, consistency of care, workplace culture, staff retention, and the experiences of the people receiving support. CBRAF creates a structured way to recognize changes earlier and respond before concerns become more serious.
What the Framework Addresses
The Caregiver Burnout Recognition & Assessment Framework is designed to help organizations identify and respond to factors that may contribute to caregiver and direct-care workforce burnout, including:
- Emotional and physical exhaustion
- Changes in engagement, communication, or performance
- Increasing stress and workload pressures
- Compassion fatigue and emotional strain
- Changes that emerge between assessments
- Workplace and environmental factors that may contribute to burnout
- The need for reassessment when warning signs appear
- Opportunities for organizational support and early intervention
Independence Ave
Independence Avenue is a N’Clusive Disability Consulting initiative focused on supporting people with disabilities as they prepare for or navigate the transition from institutional, residential, or highly structured settings into community-based living. The initiative recognizes that moving into the community involves more than finding a place to live—it requires planning for the supports, accessibility, resources, services, and everyday needs that make independence sustainable.
Through advocacy, education, transition planning, resource navigation, and disability-informed support, Independence Avenue helps individuals and families identify potential barriers, prepare for change, and build a clearer path toward greater choice, control, and participation in community life.
Unsafe Discharge Initiative
The Unsafe Discharge Initiative addresses situations in which a person may be preparing to leave a hospital, rehabilitation facility, or other care setting without the equipment, services, supports, accessible environment, or coordinated plan needed for a safe transition. The initiative focuses on helping individuals, families, caregivers, and organizations recognize potential discharge barriers before they become crises.
Through advocacy, education, discharge preparation, resource navigation, and systems-focused work, the initiative promotes earlier identification of unmet needs and stronger communication among patients, families, providers, and support systems. Its goal is to encourage discharge planning that considers what a person will actually need to live safely and successfully after leaving a care setting.
Where these initiatives connect: A safe discharge can be the beginning of successful community living. When appropriate, the Unsafe Discharge Initiative and Independence Avenue work alongside one another—addressing immediate transition concerns while supporting the longer-term goal of sustainable independence in the community.
